I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Petco (Hampton, VA) in Jul 2015
Interview
I first applied online. After not hearing anything for a week I called to check on my application and they told me they were doing a group interview later on in the week. I got to the walk through a little early and they told me to walk around the store and they would get started in a little bit. It was quick, and the manager just basically took us around the store. A few hours after I left I was called back for another interview the next day. It was two other people from the group yesterday. I hoped to get a call back but didnt hear anything until 2 weeks later online saying they weren't hiring me....
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why do you want to work here? Are you comfortable working with animals? What pets do you have at home? If hired, what can you do to help raise money for PetCo?
This started as an open group interview, that then moved to individual interviews. The group process happened in the front of the store, with the individual process moving to the office. Overall quick and painless.
It was pretty easy. The interviewer asks questions provided by Petco. My interview was short as the interviewer wanted it to go quick, but I don't believe this is the norm. Many questions are related to having a previous job.

Question 1
Are there any animals you are uncomfortable handling?
It was easy just talk about how you are with animas. I had experience so I just talked about that and they were very happy to hear about it. So don’t worry
