      Senior Associate Interview

      Feb 19, 2021
      Anonymous employee
      Washington, DC
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Pew Charitable Trusts (Washington, DC)

      Interview

The interview process itself took 2-3 months as Pew has many layers in their hierarchy. Had an initial phone call with HR where they immediately tell you the salary and mislead you into thinking that if you don't accept this then you won't be able to move on to the interview process. They are adamant about telling people the salary is set and non-negotiable. That is not true! Do not believe them! (That initial call also foreshadows HR's gaslighting and behavior once you get hired). Had about 3-4 virtual interviews (spanning over a couple of months) and then a full day of in-person interviews. I know it depends on the teams you are applying for so some teams take longer than others.

Screening process was very easy and they were super respectful. Only issue was how long it takes to move to each step in the hiring process, but I think that’s just how the market is these days.
