All in all the interview process went fairly smoothly. I had an interview with both an HR recruiter and the director to whom the position reported. I thought both interviews went fairly well, but I never heard back from the organization. I inquired after I had been waiting for a bit and was informed they were still in the beginning stages of the search and would keep me posted once they were ready to move forward but I still haven't heard back. I'm assuming this means they're not interested since the manager had told me he had been looking for quite some time, but I would have appreciated a formal rejection as opposed to being held in pending status. I just went into the site and checked and the job opening is no longer there.
