Initially, I had a phone interview with a manager in March, which went reasonably well. I mentioned during this conversation that I possessed basic knowledge of SAP, which seemed relevant to the position. (They did not even ask about it) Also, during the subsequent face-to-face interview, the topic of SAP did not arise as well, and I was not given an opportunity to showcase my skills in this area. Moreover, despite being informed that the results would be communicated within two weeks, I had to wait well beyond that timeframe to receive a response. (For both phone and face-to face interview, they only invited me for face-to-face interview after 2 months from phone interview). Upon finally receiving the outcome, I was disheartened to learn that I had been rejected due to the recruitment of someone with more experience and knowledge of SAP. This rationale seemed questionable, as I was not given a fair chance to demonstrate my skills during the face-to-face interview, where SAP expertise would have been more relevant. Additionally, it came to my attention that the company ultimately hired a Turkish candidate, who happened to be a friend of the recruiters, despite having more than five years of experience in an entirely different field. (Team was Turkish team, and I am also fluent in Turkish) This decision raises concerns about the fairness and impartiality of the selection process, as it appears that personal connections may have played a significant role in the final decision. It seems to me that my interview process was just a formality to fill timeline.
