Screening call then 2 interviews with hiring managers.
I interviewed for an Asset Engineer role at the company, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing — primarily due to how the process was handled by the recruiter.
From the beginning, I was very clear about the position I was applying for. The job title was explicitly listed on every Teams invite, and I repeated it during every conversation. I even received a verbal offer for that exact role. Despite this, at the very last moment, I was told that they were actually offering me a completely different position — a "Maintenance Lead" role — which was never discussed in any of the interviews and did not align with my background or expectations.
The recruiter made me feel like I was being shuffled around to fill an internal need, rather than being genuinely considered for the role I had applied for. At one point, when I asked for clarification on the responsibilities of the new role, the explanation was vague and non-reassuring. It felt like the original role may have been given to another candidate, and I was being quietly redirected without transparency.
Despite the fact that I already hold a stable engineering position elsewhere, I was treated as if I was easily replaceable — rather than as a serious, qualified candidate. The communication was inconsistent, responses were delayed, and ultimately, I was left feeling blindsided and undervalued.
