      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Philo in Feb 2022

      Interview

The interviewing process was pleasant from start to end starting with the recruiter and ending with 2 engineers before declining my candidacy. They ask good questions to assess your current ability to perform for the role they interview.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Philo (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2022

      Interview

Recruiter reached out on Linkedin and I happened to be looking around. Process beyond talking with the recruiter involved talking with the team lead briefly which then led to 3 hours of interviews. The first part second series of interviews involved a peculiar coderpad problem where I was asked to write some simplified version of a DHCP server. I managed to get all but the last test case working in that, seemed like I maybe did fine on this part Second part of the second series was just a QA person going over the product and taking questions about it. Third part was the most bizarre, with some guy coming into the meeting late while shoving a sandwich in his face. Talking to me with his mouth full of food intiially. This then devolved into him sending me an entire Android project over and then asking me to make a laundry list of changes in the span of less than an hour. Meanwhile the meeting was littered with interuptions where he did things like "oh dont use that value, ill talk the designers that doesnt look right" etc. Honestly it was one of the most bizarre interview experiences Ive had in a while After all this I heard nothing for about 4 or 5 days, already got an offer elsewhere so I sent some manner of "Looks like you guys arent interested, thank you for your time" type email. After this a recruiter responded saying someone was out and he's working on getting some sort of feedback and if they want to move forward(okay... I already sort of opted out but fine...) A few days later I get a "Rejection" email from the recruiter saying they decided not to move forward. Honestly the company seems like a disorganized mess especially after the last interview interaction occurred where some half attentive developer was shoving an app archive in my face while eating a sandwich and then interrupting me constantly with bizarre adhoc changes to the request in the "take home problem"

      Question 1

Sort of mentioned in the process portion.. but in general don't worry about this, it wont make any coherent sense for the job you're applying to and the inmates run the asylum here.
