The application process for this role was a little nontraditional insofar as I was referred by a current employee. So I sent my resume directly to HR and set up a phone interview. The phone interview was a little awkward -- partly because I'm awkward on the phone but also because it felt less like a conversation and more like a screening. The questions were very basic without any conversational followup.
