I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at PitchBook (Seattle, WA) in Sep 2012
Interview
The entire process took a week from the submission of my resume to signing an offer. The on-site interview was extremely long. I interviewed with 5 different people, including the CEO, and took the Caliper, which takes forever. I got a parking ticket because my meter expired and I didn't want to leave the interview to add time to it.
I applied online. I interviewed at PitchBook (London, England) in Dec 2021
Interview
The first round was with a buffoon who kept repeating "this is not an editor position" as if I was unaware of the role I'd applied for. Didn't hear anything for weeks and accepted another role but someone in the US had seen my CV and wanted to talk and this person and their team, will real journalists, confident in their own abilities and not terrified I was going to take their job.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
First "interview" was a watching a very sweaty man giggle nervously but the second interview conducted in the US asked how I would source private equity deal info?
Scattered interview with a few people rotating in and out. Questions overlapped and were repetitive. Didn't seem like they were communicating well with each other and were going through the motions.
Applied online. Had an initial 30 minute phone interview followed by a writing assignment on a topic of my choosing and finally a 1.5 hour in office interview. Was told if the interview went well I would be called in to complete a personality test.
