I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at PlaceIQ (New York, NY) in Oct 2018
Interview
It was an enjoyable and fair interview process - the people were exceptionally friendly. The culture seemed very supportive and the employees seemed motivated. There was an HR Phone screen. A short take home data challenge. And an in person interview.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
A few coding questions (white-boarding), a few questions on the resume, and some qualitative questions.
I applied online. I interviewed at PlaceIQ in Oct 2018
Interview
Please just avoid interviewing with this company. The most terrible one I have ever had. The recruiter contacted me and told me there will be a data challenge that they are putting together. After one month or so, she emailed me again and asked me when can I do it. I told her I was busy recently so I might have to do it a bit later. And she aggressively asked me to 'just tell me a time ASAP'.
Then I did the coding challenge, which you have to finish in 3 hours. I sent it in. She said we will get back to you. It has been three weeks and there is no follow up at all despite I sent two emails to follow up.
I guess I really need that 3 hours coding practice in my life then.
The process took 5 days. I interviewed at PlaceIQ in Jul 2018
Interview
I applied online and was contacted though e-mail for a phone interview. I probably failed the coding question during the phone interview because I can't code on the spot like that. I got a e-mail a few days later saying that they were not moving forward.

They had asked me about previous projects and then had me code on this online website. Write code for a weighted die. Then he asked what if the die had a million sides.
