Interview
I received an interview invitation around 2 weeks after application. The interviewer was distanced & cold, despite me being quite enthusiastic about the company & having the opportunity to interview for this role.
Things went downhill when she asked for my salary expectation, which I could not answer as I still had way too many questions about the portfolio size, targets, market, processes etc. When I asked her for the salary range & overall package she got snarky & didn’t tell me. I asked her if we could talk then about the salary at a later point, after I could talk with the hiring manager & understanding the expectations better. I received 2 weeks later a blank rejection email.
It’s always extremely disappointing when interviews fail because recruiters aren’t comfortable talking openly about compensation.
After an initial screening call by the talent acquisition manager, there were multiple interviews with the hiring manager as well as different team members. Questions were a mix of competency-based and behavioral questions and culture fit, The process was clear and communication was very good. After 3-4 weeks of interview's there was a final presentation -on a them directly related to the role- in front of the team and the team's director.

This was the most interview rounds I have experienced. Seems like too much time for me, and for the interviewers. They must have spent 3x as much time!

Quite a long process (5 steps in total) that I could finish in 1.5 months. The chats were quite informal but with a lot of specific questions on technical and customer-focused tasks.
