The interview process at Planet Labs was thorough and intensive, in a good way. The recruiting team was very professional from the initial contact through scheduling the onsite. For the onsite, I liked meeting every member of my potential staff, peer level, and C Suite. This did entail two separate onsite and phone screens to meet everyone, but it was worth it. I gained a top to down perspective of the organization and was impressed by the cohesive mission alignment from all roles and positions. I was very happy that once I was given an offer, it was an organization and team that wanted me and just 1-2 individuals. Yes, the process did seem long at times (but I have been through longer waiting periods at other large SV companies for these roles), but I would rather have a lengthly interview than a quick four hour onsite with a random smattering of people/roles that I have seen at other companies.
