      Graphic Designer Interview

      Austin, TX
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Pluralsight (Austin, TX) in Oct 2021

      Interview

      1. I had an initial interview with the recruiter going over some of basics of my resume and the job itself. 2. The recruiting team has you take the CCAT (50 question, timed cognitive test) and a personality test. I ended up taking the CCAT twice because I was very close to making the cut. During this time, my portfolio was sent to my potential team to review. 3. After successfully passing the CCAT, a planned interview with my potential supervisor took place. This was a quick, 30-45 minute review of the job. 4. I was sent a design test. I needed to assimilate a written presentation and turn it into a visually engaging PowerPoint that followed brand guidelines. My only critique is that this design test never came up again in the process. I completed the test and it was never reviewed in an interview. 5. I had a final interview both with my potential supervisor and senior designer. The designer looked through my portfolio on the interview and asked specific questions about my work. Everyone was very personable and kind through the process, but I think there are some steps that can be forgone or simplified here.

Very smooth process. My recruiter was friendly and communicated often with me. The timing was flexible and I got to pick the final time based on my schedule. The team made every effort to keep the interview to a decent length, and was very honest about my standing throughout the process.
