I initially applied for the community associate position, and scheduled an interview with my recruiter via phone. The day & time came for my phone interview, but no one ever called, so I reached out to multiple people to still express my interest in the company. I heard back from the recruiter hours later that day who lied and told me he did try to call me, but for some reason the call didn’t go through, and we re-scheduled the phone interview where he admitted he was pulled into a meeting that he didn’t know he was going to be a part of and forgot about our phone interview. That was red flag number 1, but I was truly passionate about their brand, so I continued to pursue the company. During our first call, he asked me to switch my application from Community Associate to Events Coordinator to better showcase my skills, and another phone call would be set to interview for that position. The following week, I had another phone interview, and my recruiter admitted he wasn’t prepared to interview me for the position, and was asking me how he could help prepare me for the call with the events manager the following week. I felt pretty confident and was ready to interview, so I didn’t have a lot of questions for him, and that was the last I spoke with anyone. My actual interview was supposed to be with events hiring manager, but as I continued to follow-up with the recruiter, he continued to respond with vague explanations as to why I never actually got a chance to interview, but I saw this entire experience as a blessing in disguise.
