Interview
Recruiter reached out on LinkedIn to discuss the role and certainly painted a nice picture of the company, how great their financials are doing and how they build bespoke internal products to serve their needs. Despite a very polished presentation he otherwise wasn't very receptive to questions and at the end of the call promised to give an update within a couple days. About a month or so later I received an automated rejection
1. Initial chat with recruiter. Pretty standard chat.
2. Chat with director of application development. Was focused on resume and STAR questions.
3. Technical assessment with several devs. They give you a barebones repo to clone and then ask you to implement a simple app with posts and comments. It's open-ended and they leave it up to you for how to go about it.
4. I didn't hear anything back for 2 weeks and then received a rejection email.
A few things seem iffy about the company. I asked the devs what they think could be improved in the company. One of the devs interviewing me was in the company's actual office and stalled to buy time while the other dev who was remote answered. The guy in the office looked around and then gave me a non-answer for what could be improved. The fact that devs can't be honest isn't a good look on the company. They also want you in the office 2 days a week if you're within a certain range of the office. But you can be remote if you're out further (¯_(ツ)_/¯)

Interview
Recruiter approached me on LI, scheduled a phone screen that took around ~15 min, during which they were disengaged, didn’t ask much, didn’t let me ask questions. A couple of days later I received a non-personal automated email saying they chose to not proceed with the process. Quite wasteful and disrespectful of the time of genuine job seekers trying to navigate the challenging market.
