      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Practice Fusion (San Francisco, CA) in Dec 2012

      Interview

I applied for the New Account Specialist position online. Strangely, the job description on the Practice Fusion website refers to the position as an Inside Sales Representative, rather than a New Account Specialist. I heard back about a week and a half later from a Practice Fusion recruiter to set up a short phone interview. The phone interview took about twenty minutes and was mostly a rundown of my resume and what I knew about the company. After our conversation I was invited in for an in person interview the following day. The office is pretty incredible, despite its sketchy Tenderloin location. Lots of people wearing headsets, yappy dogs running around, an enormous kitchen, all that you'd expect from a startup. I spent about 45 minutes speaking with the same recruiter I'd talked to the day before, and it seemed to be much less of an interview than a conversation testing my personality. After speaking with the recruiter, an account management team lead came into interview me. She asked me what I knew about Practice Fusion, instances where I needed to be aggressive and assertive, and how I'd act as the "new girl" on the team. Finally, she asked me to role play a conversation between a New Account Specialist and a physician's office. I knew at that point I wasn't the right fit for the job, and I think the interviewer agreed since she ended the interview shortly after that. I received a call the following day letting me know that I was not a good fit.
