Precisely Senior Account Executive interview questions

Initial interview with the gate keeper, then an hour with hiring manager. We talked about my back ground and experience, company overview and why the role was available. I was told at the conclusion of the interview that I was a good fit and that I will be recommended to the next stage. Then a few weeks later I was told via a contact I know in the company that the interviewer changed their mind. No official communication from the company was provided. I feel like the interviewer forgot the conversation and left me hanging. Not very professional.
