What a terrible interview. Disorganized, poor management! I would stay away from Priceline.
The recruiter came AT LEAST 5 minutes late to the 20-minute interview. She said she was in another meeting. This has always been a red flag in my experience. The right thing to do is respectfully leave your currently meeting, and telling them, you have a interview scheduled. Just basic respect and professionalism!
The interview had three people on the schedule: me, recruiter, and a third person (possibly someone from the ML team).
I sent a group email to ask if anyone is coming, the technical guy replied saying his baby sitter cancelled on him, so he can't come. I've never seen a more disrespectful excuse.
Even more strange was that, the technical guy was receiving and answering emails from his person Gmail account. Isn't that an IT protocol violation? You could potentially be fired for doing business on person emails.
Once we are finally online, she spent 10 minutes asking questions that was already answered in the application, such as do you need sponsorship?
You say, maybe this is just one interview or a particular person. But, it does reflect the company culture, these are trained professional. It is likely a top-down process that runs from the top. I would not recommend Priceline to anyone.
