The process was unusually long and drawn out for an admin role. I completed a 30-minute Zoom screening with HR, followed by a 30-minute Zoom meeting with my prospective supervisor and team. This was followed by a 4-hour in-person interview where I was confined to a conference room the entire time, interviewed by multiple groups of people until nearly the whole department spoke with me, with only leftover food/drinks from a previous event provided.
The interview itself was not challenging, but the length felt excessive and unnecessary, especially given that there was no opportunity for a campus or office tour, nor did the role require an extensive technical assessment. From my perspective, a more concise, organized, and respectful approach to candidates’ time would better reflect the institution’s professionalism and consideration for applicants.
