I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Princeton University (Princeton, NJ) in Mar 2013
Interview
There was no interview process. Admission seemed to be based solely off of resumes and essays that were included in the application. Essays were not particularly short but not hard to complete.

Interview
It was quick and pleasant, with a discussion of the role and responsibilities and my abilities to meet it. Generally, I would say it was quite standard. That being said, even for the kind of positions were undergraduates are taken, some questions will be asked about previous research experience.

Question 1
Have you ever participated in any research studied before?
Very straightforward interview process. Meet with the professor who's running the project and show some interest. Really just takes someone showing serious interest in the topic. Might help if you have some relevant class work to support your application.
