A recruiter reached out to me via text, even though I did not opt-in to receiving text messages. Assuming it was a spam message, I texted back 'STOP' to opt out of receiving text messages. I was then informed via email that my application was closed, so I had to request my application to be opened again. During the remainder of the process, I continued to receive a bunch of text messages that should have been emails instead. I can't help but feel that this company needs to be aware of how annoying it can be to receive generic corporate messages on your personal phone.
As for the HR screener interview, which was conducted remotely, I was asked some very generic questions that neither seemed to have anything to do with the job nor gave me any insight into the role or the company. They were obvious personality questions, like "yes I believe in doing a good job and no I do not believe in doing a bad job." It felt like a waste of time, but the interviewer seemed to think that I could move on to the next interview round.
I then got to the second interview, which was an on-site interview (side note: I was bombarded with text messages from the HR recruiter while driving to the interview, asking if I was on my way...). The second interviewer asked questions that made a little more sense for the role, and it was a more pleasant conversation, but there were no technical questions, which I found odd.
To be honest, I was surprised that I was contacted for the role in the first place, and even moved on to the second interview round, despite admitting in my application that I as missing direct experience in Salesforce. The application and the interview process seemed to imply (although to be fair did not actually state) that this would not be a problem. To absolutely no one's surprise, a week later, I received a generic email stating that they had moved on with another candidate due to my lack of experience. The whole thing felt like an enormous waste of time.
