      Publisher Relations Interview

      Jul 12, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at ProQuest

      Interview

Applied via company website and quickly offered a screening interview with local HR. Proceeded to 2nd telephone interview with hiring and matrix manager. The second interview was about an hour long. What became apparent was that there was a discrepancy between the job as described in the job description and screening interview and the actual role. It transpired that despite it being billed as a team management role at director level and with responsibilties for a number of territories that there were only one or two direct reports and the advertised territories would be taken on by the hiring manager. The JD also did not mention that this was specifically an ebook role. This information would have been helpful as a candidate in terms of general preparation, suitability and salary requirements.
