      Human Resources Business Partner Interview

      May 30, 2013
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at ProQuest

      Interview

Quick interview process. Questions were very relevent to the work that would be done and was a very positive experience. Recommend ProQuest to anyone. I did not get an offer but love the company and who I talked to. Hopefully, at the right time I can be considered employment again.

      Human Resources Business Partner Interview

      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at ProQuest (Detroit, MI) in Mar 2015

      Interview

Abiut 2 weeks after I applied online, I received an automated email letting me know there were other more qualified candidates for the position. About 2 weeks after that, I received an email from a ProQuest "senior" recruiter to schedule a phone interview for the position. After the 30 minute conversation, I mentioned there were some additional experiences I'd had that were relevant to the job and would email her some additional information if she was interested. She seemed enthusiastic about it and said she would call me back so we could schedule time to talk further the next day, which was a Friday. I sent her a narrative as we discussed. I didn't hear back from her. On Friday I left her a voice mail. I tried unsuccessfully several times to reach her by phone In Monday. On Tuesday I called again, and she didn't answer. About 30 minutes later she emailed, saying she had been out sick, and then telling me one of the 2 positions had been filled and that ProQuest was "looking for a different skill set" for the other position. I've never encountered a recruiter who didn't return calls, made excuses for not returning calls, ignored her commitment to further discuss the opportunity, and lacked the courtesy to tell me on the phone that I was no longer under consideration. The recruiter left me with a horrible impression of ProQuest. The job posting has been up since around January. I'm wondering if other potential candidates are staying far away due to the company's reputation, which I've learned is quite poor.
