I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Progressive Insurance (Edison, NJ) in Oct 2020
Interview
I originally applied 6 months ago and got to a second round of interview but the first time I applied I didn’t know what to expect and was unfortunately was rejected.
The second time around I made sure I was well prepare! After applied online. I was given employee assessment two days later. Employee assessment consisting of basic math, English problems and customer service skills stimulation at the end. Assessment will take you at least an hour. Once passed you will be invited for a one sided video interview that consists of 8 behaviors questions. STAR format is key here. Progressive score you based on STAR format so make sure you get your story down. Watch Madeleine Man video on Youtube! You have 30 seconds to prepare your answer and two tries, the second try you won’t get to rewatch your video so I preferred to submit it on the first try so I can at least rewatch my answer. This part is very awkward and what got me rejected the first time. You have 6 days to submit your video so practice practice practice if you really want the job! This round will make and break you. Please see questions below for the STAR questions. After my video was submitted I got an email two days later for an invite for a video interview with a direct hiring manager. This part was much easier than the one sided video. I still prepared my STAR answers to the tea! The hiring manager was very personable and relatable. She started of by introducing herself and how she got where she is in the company, explained about the position itself then she asked me about myself and why I want the job. Then follow up with 3-4 STAR questions. Hiring manager also asked me if I would be interested in another position that is also in the same pay grade but in a different department. I told her I was open to it. This interview toke about an hour and half. Seem long but went by like it was 15 minutes because the hiring manager was very friendly to talk to. Two days later I got a phone call from HR offering me two positions! And I was free to pick either one! Overall the interviewing process was extensive but worth it for a Fortune 100 company! I have friends that are working at Progressive and love every moment of it! The pay and benefits are what make up the hard work to get to this point. The process from start to finish was very quick. Their HR are extremely prompt and explained everything very clearly.
