The process took about a week. I applied online and received a phone interview request via email from the hiring manager. The phone screen went well. I was asked to complete an assignment with a tight deadline since they were looking to fill the role ASAP. After submitting the assignment, I received an in-person interview invite for the following day. On the day of the interview, I met with the hiring manager and his superior. When I arrived, I was greeted by the office manager who took me to a small conference room where I waited about 5 mins for the interview to commence. Both the hiring manager and his superior came in with their laptops to take notes... For about 45 minutes, I was grilled with situational interview questions by two inexperienced individuals. They typed my responses word for word which was very distracting and made very little eye contact. About 30 minutes into what felt more like an interrogation than an interview, the hiring manager made an effort to make the experience feel more like a two-way interaction by looking up from his screen and allowing me to ask questions but his superior was not having that. In fact, in the middle of me asking a question, the hiring manager's superior cut me off and stated he had a few more questions then would give me a chance to ask questions. At that point, I was appalled by the lack of professionalism. When I was given permission to ask questions, there was not enough time left. Overall, the interview felt one-sided and unstructured. About a week later, I received an email from the hiring manager stating that they decided to go with another candidate.
