The interview process I went through was terrible. During the first interview, the interviewer, the head of people operations, was nearly 10 minutes late, and the call dropped shortly after it began. When she finally called back, she interrupted me while I was answering the first interview question, which was "tell me about yourself," and said that I was not a fit for the position they were looking to fill as they were looking for engineers. I wasn't aware that they were specifically searching for engineers, as it was not mentioned in the job description, and I never would've applied if I had known. I'm not sure why they set up an interview with me in the first place, but Kiana mentioned that I would be a good fit for a role opening up soon. Since I was impressed with the proton.ai idea and wanted to work there, I kept an eye on the job openings and applied again several weeks later for a position that I thought would be a great fit. They sent me a pre-screening project with three questions. One part of the project required me to create a video using Loom, a service that notifies you when your video has been watched. However, my video was never watched, and I was informed that I was not a good fit for the role. Overall, my experience with the proton.ai interview process was the worst I have ever had, and I can't imagine what it would be like to work there. I suggest staying away from this company and exploring other start-ups in the area. There are always better options out there.
