The recruiter contacted me for the role I applied for Director, Product Marketing and I interviewed. It seemed like they saw a potential fit in my background after we spoke. However, without consulting me the set up an interview for an Associate Director role. I have been a Director for over 3 years. When I brought this up they realized that they made a mistake in not discussing this with me first and changed the title the reflect the role applied to Furthermore, after the initial interview the recruiter seemingly forgot to contact me until I followed up two weeks later despite the fact that they said they would be in touch within a week. They did apologize but it seemed like the response was they were only willing to consider me for a lower opportunity similar to they way they had misled me in the first place and at a lower salary so that was not an option
