I applied online. I interviewed at PulteGroup (West Palm Beach, FL) in Mar 2021
Interview
Extensive. Screening call with HR. First interview (virtual) with 2 managers, next virtual interview with VP of department, and last phone interview with regional manager with less than 24 hours notice. No explanation of interview process
I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding my recent interview experience for a position within the Procurement and Construction Departments. My experience was highly irregular and suggests a significant lack of internal coordination and professional standards.
Specifically, I would like to highlight the following points:
Misrepresentation of Vacancy: After multiple rounds of interviews with the Manager and VP of Procurement, it became apparent that a defined role did not actually exist. Inviting a candidate to interview for a non-existent position is a poor use of professional resources.
Lack of Interview Preparation: During the second phase of the process, I met with the VP of Construction, who appeared to have no prepared questions or a clear understanding of why the meeting was taking place.
Inconsistent Communication: While the initial feedback was overwhelmingly positive and encouraging, the lack of follow-through and the disorganized nature of the subsequent steps were contradictory and unprofessional.
I believe these practices reflect poorly on the company’s employer brand and merit an internal review. I hope this feedback serves as a catalyst for improving the recruitment pipeline and ensuring that future candidates are treated with the transparency and respect their time deserves.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at PulteGroup (Charlotte, NC) in May 2022
Interview
-Phone interview with Procurement manager
-Zoom interview with same manager & Senior agent
-In person interview day: Met back-to-back for 30min each with head of Sales, Marketing, and VP of construction. Then met for an hour with same manager & director of Procurement.
-In person interview with Division president
This was all over the span of about 3 weeks. I then did not hear anything for 2 weeks after, until finally was told they offered it to the other candidate after narrowing it down to the two of us.
