I went through a recruiter. Granted I have good experience, but I thought it was fairly easy to get access to the hiring managers/they did a good job to make themselves available. The interviews were prompt and friendly, and they were flexible (used Skype vs. having me fly out). They did repeat a lot of questions, I would suggest more pre-game planning on their part.
