The process was pretty standard, but a fair number of rounds of interviews. Spoke with those both directly that the role would interact with, as well as some from other teams. Ultimately, after many rounds of review, they went with someone internal. I'm not sure they were ever really sold on considering someone external, with adjacent but not exact experience. Part of me wishes they'd come to realize that sooner, before weeks of interviewing -- though I still considered it to be a valuable experience.
