First impression was really important for the pre-screen round. Since there were thousands of applicants, they eliminated quickly based on first glance. If you passed this round, there would be an English test with an equivalent level to TOEIC. Then, the next round would be a quick interview to introduce yourself and see how well you handle pressuring situations. Some of the interviewers were being mean on purpose, or pretended they were very much not listening to you. I found this quite off putting even though I know they were just testing whether you could keep the customer service face on under pressure. Some interviewers went as far as asking you to remove concealers, tights, and intentionally picked on you about appearance. I’m not sure why scars and tattoos are that worrying when the job is to ensure passengers’ safety during the flight. I don’t think bullying cabin crew candidates about the way they look and scars they have during the interview makes much sense. I feel like some of them enjoyed asking pestering questions more than to find the right candidate for the job.
