I applied for a job on their website, and after two weeks, my application status changed to HM review. I then received an email to schedule an interview after a month, after the interview, they went radio silent -there was no communication for several months, so I interpreted this as a NO and moved on.
Months later, the recruiter reached out again, wanting to schedule another interview. At this point, I wasn't sure what they were trying to achieve, but I thought it would be a good interview experience, so I agreed to a final interview. After that, another 2-3 months passed with no updates, and I finally received an email to negotiate an offer.
However, the salary they proposed was lower than what I was already earning, so I declined. Several months later, I was contacted again with an offer for a different role with a higher grade. I accepted, only for them to go silent for months again.
When I followed up, I was informed that there was a new head of division and was asked to complete psychological tests, among other things. After months of radio silence again, I had already secured another job else where - Qatar Airways reached out again, informing me that I had been unsuccessful in the role they had OFFERED.
Overall, this was a long and confusing process that took almost TWO years with talking to 4 different recruiters and 3 coordinators. My advice to anyone applying: make sure you have a backup plan, as their recruitment process is unpredictable and can leave you in limbo for extended periods. Did they lie? I think they had no intention of hiring. They can lie through and through.
