I applied online through the Qualcomm career portal. The manager contacted me via email after 4 weeks and scheduled a telephone interview. The telephone interview was pretty much straightforward. It lasted for 30 minutes and the manager explained about the position, quizzed me on the resume.
Two days later I received an email saying I was invited to San Diego for an onsite interview. On the day of the interview I met with the HR and was handed the schedule wherein I had to meet with 5 people including the hiring manager and others varying in ranks from Senior Electrical Engineer to Senior Manager to Director. All the interviews lasted 45 minutes. I had lunch with the hiring manager. The manager gave me a tour of the lab, introduced me to the team after which I was interviewed by two additional members of the team apart from the 5 members listed in the schedule.
The technical questions were pretty simple. It was mostly regarding my projects, structures and pointers in C, verilog HDL and assembly language coding. Having strong fundamentals helped me answer all the questions with ease. There were the occasional behavioral questions as well.
The final interview was with the HR, the usual why Qualcomm, have you interviewed elsewhere, strengths, weakness. I returned the next day and was made the offer within a week!
