I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Qualtrics
Interview
Pretty standard in the beginning. Initially, I was contacted by a Sales Manager on LinkedIn. Then applied online and had an initial ~15 minute call to assess interest with a recruiter. Then a call with your potential manager's manager. This was a ~30 minute call and we mostly covered high level ideas and briefly talked about my experience. From here, I made it onto a virtual interview through HireVue. This is where I feel things became a bit odd. Disclaimer - I feel that this format is difficult to succeed in as you are recording answers to questions on your laptop. Sounds easy in theory but I found it to be quite detached and insentient.
If I remember correctly, there were 22 questions to answer in this interview. This included recording video responses ranging from 30 seconds to 5 minutes and typing out responses. At first, the questions were pretty standard but then they started to take a turn. The questions were coming out of left field and to me, did not seem relevant or do a good job assessing my professional background. There were hardly any questions regarding my actual experience. The questions were very abstract and unusual. Disclaimer # 2 - I've made it through the whole interview process at Google, start to finish and to me, Qualtrics is trying to create an interviewing culture similar to the early stages of Google. A point of clarification, Google has moved away from asking these the brain teaser type questions.
Unsurprisingly after this interview, the recruiter told me that they would be pursuing other candidates. I believe after the virtual interview, the hypothetical plan was to bring me onsite for a final round of interviews.
Hope this helps anyone interviewing at Qualtrics and good luck!
