      Analyst Interview

      Oct 8, 2011
      Anonymous employee
      London, England
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Qubit (London, England) in Jul 2011

      Interview

I met the recruiters at a campus recruitment fair and they seemed very energetic and professional. I followed up with an email with my CV attached, and the next day they asked me to arrange a time for telephone interview. They said it was gonna be 15-20 minutes on some technical knowledge, but it turned out to be approx. 45 mins at the end. The questions are about professional knowledge on statistics, both theoretical and practical. This was followed by an office interview in 2 weeks.

      Question 1

You have 2 unbiased dice. You can roll them for at most three times. You receive a prize depending on the sum of the two numbers on the dice. Every time you roll again, your previous record is erased. (i.e., if you got 7 at the first roll, and 3 at the second roll, you final outcome is 3) What's your strategy to maximise your chance to win a higher prize?

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Qubit (London, England) in Feb 2017

      Interview

First round performed by HR. Second round general CV and skill based phone interview by member from Professional Service. Third round was at the Qubit office, conducted in 2 sessions. One was skill based and the other was CV based. HR was fairly quick to respond to queries and offered feedback upon request after final stage. Interviewers seemed nice.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Qubit (London, England) in Aug 2016

      Interview

Spoke to someone from HR on the phone first, then went for a face to face interview in their offices. The interview was mostly around my experience and skills and how this relates to the position I applied for. I was asked some rather weird questions (see below). It felt like the interviewers did not have much experience of interviewing people. I didn't hear back so I assume they didn't want me to progress to further interviews.

      Question 1

Imagine that someone came to ask you for some data, and you knew that if they just knew how to use SQL they could get the information themselves. How would you describe SQL to them in two sentences?

      Interview

1 interview. Very informal at first, though didn't seem like interviewer wanted to be there at that time of day. Process involved emailing application including cover letter and cv and then phone interview and then 1:1 interview. Questions weren't too hard, definitely know about online business models of big sites etc. some logic questions included
