Emailed by the hiring manager directly and a time was set up. When I arrived another director joined - I was not informed of this so it felt unplanned. The interview itself was not a great experience. There was a general air of disinterest all the way through. Nothing of value or use was asked or discussed and where I had talked about technical aspects the interviewers did not completely get it which left me alarmed. My walk away is that they have found a candidate and I was being interviewed for the sake of it - maybe to fill some kind of racial or gender quota. I’ve interviewed (successfully and unsuccessfully) at RBC at other times and they are always wonderful. This was clearly an anomaly.
