      Software Development Intern Interview

      May 18, 2023
      Anonymous employee
      Jacksonville, FL
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at RF-SMART (Jacksonville, FL) in Feb 2023

      Interview

The interview process consisted of 4 steps: The first was a recorded response to standard STAR format questions, two attempts are given per question and although I do not recall the exact questions they are generally applicable to the position you applied for as well as your prior experience and the standard why do you want to work here. The second interview was with a member of the talent acquisition team in which they try to get a sense whether you are a good cultural fit for the company. RF-SMART is huge on really fostering an inviting work environment that not only enables you to succeed but is also filled with people that genuinely care how you are and if you’re happy where you’re at. Kindness is at the core of this company and they only hire people they think will continue to keep this true. The third part of the interview was a 30 minute technical interview based on the position I applied for with the manager of support and technical consulting, following this interview I had a 3 question coding assessment which I found to be on the easy side, they clearly want to know that you have some foundational knowledge but they are not trying to crack you under pressure during this process. The final round of the interview consisted of another meeting with a member of the talent acquisition team, and a 1 on 1 with the hiring manager who will be your supervisor should you get the position, this part felt more like a formality for them to really solidify that they have the right candidate in mind for the position. Overall I found the interview process to be more in-depth than some other companies I had previously applied to but very fair and not overly complicated.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Although I do not remember specific questions they asked during the interview they will ask you questions that pertain to how you deal with stress and relationships at work and otherwise which circles back to their desire to find the right culture fit.
