I was grateful to receive an interview for the Director of Engineering position at RWJ Barnabas, but I was very disappointed with the overall interview experience. The panel appeared unprepared, did not seem to have reviewed my resume, and frequently asked questions that were either irrelevant or had little to do with the actual responsibilities of the role.
With my strong technical background and extensive experience, I expected a more focused and respectful conversation about the position and its requirements. Instead, I was asked about a job I left more than 10 years ago while key aspects of my current qualifications were ignored. The tone of the interview at times felt dismissive and unprofessional.
Based on this experience, I left with serious concerns about the professionalism and leadership of the department and would caution others to be mindful of this when considering opportunities with this organization.
