The overall interview process was great. Rackspace works hard to get employees regardless of where they exist in the country. Remote workers are encouraged and the HQ is a great place as well. Expect to answer technical questions and provide some code. Also be prepared to talk about any open source projects you may have been involved in. They are looking for opensource developers, but also don't shy away from experienced professionals who work in closed communities.

If you could fix one thing in all your coding experiences, what would it be and why?
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Rackspace Technology (San Antonio, TX) in Sep 2015
Interview
The first round was a webEx interview and i was asked the usual stuff in a telephonic interview. Then came the face to face and the first was a 2 hour interview, mostly on the project i worked some data structures and so on. On completing the interview and coming back i was scheduled for another set of interview and was told managerial. When i went to attend the interview i was told i did not perform well and they were not sure of hire and wanted to interview me again with the same panel. It was complete shocker and it went into discussion and coding of typical algorithm questions.
During interview of the second face to face, most the questions were not clear on what they were looking for and they had trouble explaining the questions.
It looks the interview process at rackspace is dependent on the team and the experience you have will depend mostly on the team and person who interview you. I felt that the team that interviewed me was new to interviewing and it was my first interview after a very long time.
