I interviewed for a Talent position related to recruiting at local events and schools.
During the process, I was told the third was a final interview.
A couple days following, I was asked to come on site for another final interview the next day.
I was working FT - so there wasn't a way for me to easily take a day off work.
During the interviews, not one but TWO different managers/ directors asked if I would be interested in a more traditional HR Talent Acq. role they were anticipating.
Actually, this would have been better- as it required less travel.
So - I told the recruiter I would honestly like to wait it out and be considered for that instead and didn't want to waste any more time in the process, theirs or mine.
I then got the cold shoulder from ALL interviewers once I requested this.
I was told I would need to pre-screen again IF they were interested in moving forward with my application, as well as not responded to via e-mail, calls and texts regarding the status of my app.
Finally, after annoying them enough, the Recruiter told me the "job would be unposted soon."
It just felt like they were salty because I did what was best for me and my final question for them was- THEN WHY DID YOU EVEN MENTION THE OTHER POSITION ON OUR MEETINGS?????
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
A friend of mine worked here and was treated very poorly, I should have known better but here we are.
