Applied via LinkedIn with resume & portfolio. Was contacted a couple days later to schedule a 30 minute phone interview with the leaders from the creative & product teams. The phone interview was very disappointing and their were major red flags raised. The questions asked of me were super vague about my experience designing and developing products. I tried asking detailed questions about their dev process but it got nowhere and it very much seemed like I was interviewing them on a design podcast and they came across super "sales pitchy". You know how those answers go, "What IDE do you use?"...10 minutes later, they described the heuristic design philosophy at Raken. I asked a couple more specific questions like that and basically got the same answer and quickly decided these guys were in over their heads. That is not the culture I am looking for, no matter how much free coffee and snacks they have.
