I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Ralph Lauren (Gulfport, MS) in Feb 2011
Interview
After bringing my completed application and resume in, the same day I spoke with the HR manager in the store. She said they were currently in the hiring process and were conducting group interviews that same day. So, she told me to come back in 45 mins to make the first interview.
She knew with my work experience and education that I would get the job, she said she just needed me to sit through the mandatory process. There were 4 other applicants beside myself at the group interview. She went around to each person and asked the same 5-6 questions that related to retail and customer service. It lasted about an hour total, then we were all instructed to go home and complete an online survey of the application/interview process to even be eligible for hire.
About 4 days later, I recieved a call for orientation. The people that I worked with were very friendly.

Did you personally ever know any employee who did anything against company policy?
The interview process was inefficient, and needlessly long. I spoke to 4 people about the role and it took months, wish the process had been more streamlined and more clarity on timeline.

open dialogue, conversational, personal in style and wanted to ascertain if I would fit the team more than technical skills, approachable and made an effort to be put at ease
I applied online. I interviewed at Ralph Lauren (Woodburn, OR) in Jan 2021
Interview
It was nice and relax, asked basic questions, and got job offer on spot. I did get referred by a recruiter. No need to stress about it, just be professional and for the dress code I would say casual business.
