Probably the most unprofessional HR interview I have ever experienced. It was very clear that the rep had not bothered to read the resume submitted prior to our call. By the way, the application process requires to you upload a resume then again requires you to fill out all the same information in their application form all over again. Instead we spet our 45mins walking through the application, all over again. Where I had to explain multiple times about how freelance graphic design works and how can someone do that while also employed full time as a Graphic Designer. At the end of our 45min I was essentially told nothing about the job beyond cursory/generic information about the company, that I already knew, and that can easily be found on the company website. The rep did not talk or seem to know what team the position was for, maybe the plan was to move people around internally once a candidate was found? I did not bother asking more details about the job or pressing the issue about what the work/team was like as it was indicated that there would be 3 additional interviews following this phone call should I be selected to proceed (a video call, then in person with a group/art directors, and then with others not in the department to determine if they liked you enough to offer you a job.) Paird with my past experiences of HR departments not really knowing what design departments do outside of the bullet points provided on the job description, my assumption is the Hr rep would not be able to offer much more than what was already said, which was nothing.
My advice for applicants, if you really want to work here, the first interview is not about the job, your work history, skillset, or even about you. It’s about do you know who Dave Ramsey is, do you follow what he preaches, and explain how in detail. If not, don’t waste your time with them, cause they’re fine with wasting yours.
