Interview Process:
1. Filled out application
2. Was given a calendar weeks in advance
3. Live coding assessment with a Recruiter watching you and recording you
4. Rejection email (I actually expected to be ghosted based on the situation I performed under and I do appreciate that they sent a rejection email.)
Experience:
I was very much prepped for this interview until I joined the call and I was unable to share my full screen. Unfortunately that gave me a disadvantage because I could no longer see/read what was on the screen and ended up having a terrible experience and first impression.
Advice to Candidates:
Do not use a computer with multiple screens because the instructions say to share your full desktop. I suppose you CAN lie and say that you have shared them all but regardless, this rule can and will impact you depending on the size of your monitor if you choose to honestly follow the instructions.
Be prepared to code quite a bit including initial set up. The time given I would not say is enough unless you are someone who happens to remember everything off of the top of your head.
Advice to Interviewers:
You all should take into consideration neurodiverse people who take instructions literally. Your coding exercise would have been a breeze had the environment been better than what was set up for me personally that day. You all should consider giving the option of take home projects as well because again, there are people with disabilities out here.
