I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Replit in Nov 2020
Interview
I'm really surprised by the other reviews here. Figured others may appreciate reading a completely opposite experience.
Put my app in thru their careers page. Was asked to do a 30ish minute code challenge.
Received a response after a few days and was offered a phone call with their recruiter. This meeting was mainly about getting to know more about me, my career decisions, and had 10-15 minutes to ask questions about the company. Felt a bit like a culture fit lite interview but she was nice.
Recruiter introduced me to an engineer on the team I was applying for. This screen was 40ish minutes of building on top of my solution for the take home and 15 minutes was chatting. Didn't really get a read on whether I passed or not by the end of the call but he answered all of my questions and seemed genuine about liking the work and his team.
I was offered an onsite a few days later. I actually enjoyed the onsite even though I knew I didn't pass by the end of it - scope creep bit me hard and my solution was working completely. It wasn't a bunch of random questions rather it was a project that I scoped out with them during our first hour, then gave them updates and asked a few questions thru slack until the end of the day where we all got back on a call and I shared what I created for an hour. One of the founders joined the call (Amjad). He seemed cool and low ego to me.
I ended up talking with half of their team by the end of the process and my impression was that they knew their stuff, they're nice, and I appreciated that they worked around my schedule.
