Interview
Simple and straightforward.
I sat before a panel of interviewers: the line manager and a senior member in the team with the open position, and a line manager from a similar team (adjacent region). They described the current situation with the team, the open role, and their needs- then asked me questions about my professional background, how I problem-solve, and how well I work in teams.
The panel was very friendly and engaged in our conversation- which lasted about 45 minutes. I had no contact with HR except on the phone setting up logistics for this meeting- no phone interview, no HR questions about strengths/weaknesses. One of my interviewers collected me from the lobby himself. After working for years in a company with a million levels of bureaucracy, this was refreshing.
