I am sharing this to provide a transparent look at the recruitment process for this firm. After advancing through multiple stages and dedicating over 6 hours of active interview time, the company ultimately stalled the process indefinitely, providing zero closure or professional courtesy.
The process was grueling and repetitive, requiring significant preparation for each stage:
Initial Screen: 1-hour background deep dive with the hiring manager.
Technical Assessment: 3 hours focused on Python and Pandas manipulation.
Business Case Study: 1-hour session applying analytics to specific InsurTech scenarios.
Data Science Review: 1-hour session analyzing trends and analytical charts
Peer Interview: Another hour discussing background/technical examples (largely redundant to the first technical round).
Executive Final: A 30-minute session with the Head of Data.
The Issue
Despite the heavy "culture of data" they project, the communication at the finish line was non-existent. After I completed the final round, I have received neither a "yes" nor a "no." The recruiter informed me they "wanted to test the rest of the pipeline" before making a decision.
Final Thoughts
It is highly unprofessional to demand 6+ hours of a candidate's time—including a deep-dive business case and technical testing—only to put them on an indefinite "hold" without a clear timeline or feedback. This reflects a "window-shopping" mentality rather than a genuine intent to hire.
Furthermore, some of the leadership’s views on the future of the role (specifically the blurring of lines between analysts and engineers via LLMs) felt disconnected from the actual technical requirements they tested for. If you value your time and expect professional closure, be wary of entering this pipeline.
