      I interviewed at Resilience (CA)

      Interview

I will never forget my interview process at this company and have learned my lesson going forward with future companies. First, I was contacted by the recruiter about a month after applying for a phone screen. Then I had an initial interview with the hiring manager a few weeks later. Then the recruiter calls me one week later to say they put all their jobs on hold to reevaluate their 2023 plan. Then three weeks later the recruiter calls me to say they are moving forward with this role. At this point, I lost all confidence in them and started to feel like "i will not quit my current job and give notice that I am leaving to work at Resilience until a few weeks after I start working at Resilience!!" yes that's right, I pondered working for two companies at once for a few weeks just to make sure that Resilience was a safe company at that point! With that new strategy in mind, I decided to proceed with the interviews. I spoke to like 10 people (no joke as I was told that my job position was so "high up!") including interviewing with CFO who is also the COO which already doesn't make sense. The CFO kept saying he senses a recession in 2023 and sounded terrified to hire anybody to be honest! All the interviews went well but the CFO gave me some doubts based on his personal views on the economy. After two more months of the recruiter talking to me on the phone to always say she didn't have any updates (which should have been done in an email) she finally tells me they decided to go in another direction and that she just wanted to give me some "closure." I am convinced they decided to hire nobody as cfo was way too paranoid about saving money and using very limited resources. Why did they create the role, pause it and then reopen if they decided not to hire in the end anyway ? It became apparent that folks at the company do not properly talk to each other or change their minds way too fast and easily. I will never forget this company! I am used to interviews taking months as I aim for senior leadership roles but I had to change my mindset and strategy to play along as they were not making me feel like they were a safe secure company to work for!! There was so many red flags along the way. All the people that I spoke to were really sweet and I feel sorry that they work there.
