Interview
All questions online. Two step process. No phone calls. They send emails to inform you if you get to move on. There are confirmation emails along the way. Very vague messages. Don't expect feedback. Non-personal computer system. Seems like the videos are graded by a person. They reply with-in two days usually.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Do a simple grammar test. Answer a short essay ( 50 to 200 words) about the hometown you grew up in. Send a practice captioned video ( video is 3 minutes long, they teach you the basics). If everything looks good they invite you to send 2 more captioned videos. Both of these videos are 3 minutes long. Took me about an hour to thoroughly caption each video.
Initial information is collected regarding work experience and skills. If you are a fit you will be contacted. Must pass exam. Given materials to study and can search through the documents to make sure you apply rules correctly.
There was no interview or anyone that reached out to talk about the position. There was a test after a training video to ensure you could do the required work to a high standard.
The interview process for the freelance captioned position is fairly standard. You have to demonstrate that you can caption a video using their system. If you are able to meet metric requirements right off the bat it is not that big of a deal.
