I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Rev (San Francisco, CA) in Jun 2015
Interview
Applied online for the transcription position.
Following is the robotic response I received less than 4 hours later, even though the application confirmation stated it could take anywhere from 2-3 weeks to receive a response. They claim they treat their workers like humans, but they sure do not treat the people who apply for their jobs like humans! They just state you don't live up to their standards with no indication as to why. Then they tell you to not contact them (don't bother us because we're not going to tell you anything)!
Dear XXXX,
Thank you for applying for the transcriptionist position with Rev. We have rigorous minimum standards and unfortunately your application did not meet those. (I like how this sentence is missing a comma but I don't live up to "their" standards!)
Please do not contact Rev regarding this decision, as we are unable to further elaborate on our reasons.
Again, thank you for your interest in working with Rev. You may re-apply in six months.
Regards,
Rev Recruiting
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell us about your home town.
• What was it like growing up there?
• What are some things to do or see?
• What are popular foods in the area?
Write 1 to 3 paragraphs in your own words. (up to 600 words)
Not sure what this has to do with transcribing. I guess they want to see if you can write. However, transcribing is not like being an author. You are typing what you hear on an audio file.
It was easy. Just a short audio file. and also a grammar test. Mostly choice answers. You'll wait for the results , some times it takes just a short period of time.
Easy process to get in as long as you trust your dialect and no human interaction at all. All you do is to pass the Transcription part and English MCQ.
You need to pass a toting test and submit a sample of your work to assess your writing and language proficiency skills. Then once you pass, if you are accepted, you will be able to get trained and have your work graded and paid for.
