      Customer Success Manager Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Revolut in Nov 2023

      Interview

I applied via LinkedIn on the 7th of November. It was a week before the Recruiter got in touch and I had a Screening Call (Step 1) on the 14th. I then passed that and was sent Aptitude and Personality Tests (Step 3) to complete the next day, I did that and was successful and so, found out the next day that I was through to the second to last step, a formal interview the following Monday, 20th November. The interview went as well as it could but I didn't feel that I did my best; for a few reasons. At the start, the interviewer explained how the interview would go and that the first part would be on my CV and experience and then about halfway through there would be an on-the-spot critical thinking/problem solving task and at the end room for questions. During the first part, usually, when I interview, the interviewer asks for a brief rundown of my CS skills and experience over the last few roles, not during this one. The interviewer only focused on my most recent role, which wasn't a complete reflection of what I could bring to Revolut. Because of this, there was a lot of clarification needed and it was difficult to explain. The other thing that put me off was the interviewer keep interrupting me as I was explaining my background; they did apologies and say that it was because of note taking but when you're nervous and trying to tell concise stories and the interviewer is stopping you constantly mid-flow it is off-putting. We then came to the task; I naively thought it would be CS-related like; "what would you do" - However, it was not, the scenario was "The People Ops Team has asked you to improve the process of hiring backend Web Developers to decrease the candidate journey time and increase the conversion rate". I was allowed to ask as many questions as I wanted, take notes and even take a few minutes to gather my thoughts. I only asked two questions; how many steps are there and what are those steps? I then immediately gave my answer as I'm good on the spot and thinking on my feet. I left that interview feeling that I didn't do as well as I could have, perhaps, I should have asked more questions and formulated a response but I still believed I answered well. However, unfortunately, I didn't make it through to the final step. I was never told WHY which has annoyed me slightly, the Recruiter was completely honest and replied to my email asking for feedback and said that due to volume they cannot give feedback. I strongly feel that if you're jumping through so many hoops and being asked to do an on-the-spot critical thinking task you SHOULD be given feedback.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Revolut (Dublin, Dublin) in Jul 2025

      Interview

After submitting my CV, a couple of weeks passed before I was invited to take a test, which mainly consisted of logic questions, with a minimum required score of 27 out of 40. Upon passing the test, I had the opportunity to have an initial interview with the recruiter, who focused primarily on my previous experiences and informed me that the test had gone well. Following this, I was invited to a conversation with the Head of Operations, where the questions went deeper into my past experiences, with a more specific focus on the technical and operational aspects of the role. After this stage, the selection process came to a halt.

      Interview

The interview process was quite chaotic. I only spoke to the recruiter after my initial interview. Got very little information about the process as a whole, including the tests I had to complete. After my final interview (which was a grilling session) I was told I will hear back in the next few days and ended up being ghosted for 2 weeks, only to get an email from the recruiter that they will not proceed with my candidacy. I've asked several times for specific feedback, never received a response.
